Edo State Governor, Adams Oshiomhole, has said that the Peoples
Democratic Party’s governorship candidate, Osagie Ize-Iyamu, was
running from the Economic Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) when
he emerged Governor.
Oshiomhole was reacting to Ize-Iyamu’s statement that he was
instrumental to the Governor’s election in 2007.
The Governor stated this during a campaign rally for the All
Progressives Congress (APC) candidate in the forthcoming Edo
governorship election, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, which was held at
Garrick Memorial College in Oredo Local Government Area of the
state.
“Check the records; on April 14, during my election, Ize-Iyamu
was in hiding from the EFCC. How can somebody who didn’t vote
claim that he made me?,” Oshiomhole said.
“We have worked for our country. We made our name; we are not
tied to anybody. We simply worked and fought poverty and
fought for the people.”
He assured workers that he will continue to prioritise their
welfare, saying he will pay pension arrears before the end of his
tenure in November.
Oshiomhole urged the people to send the PDP in Edo state back to
obscurity with their Permanent Voter Cards on September 10.
